Bruton Parish Church is the oldest Episcopal Church still in use in the United States. It is located at the corner of Duke of Gloucester Street and Palace Green.

The current structure dates from 1715 and is the third in a series of Anglican Worship Houses that began in 1660.  It is unknown if the first stood at this site.

Over the years the church had been renovated and changed so that it became very different from the original look it had in 1715.  In 1903 Rev. Dr. W.A.R. Goodwin became the rector and began the restoration process to restore the original 1715 look of the church.

Graves of note in the churchyard include:  Thomas Ludwell, John Greenhow, and two infant children of Martha Custis Washington by her first husband, Col. Daniel Parke Custis.
